New Meeting Location and Date Announced

NEW HAVEN, CT (Jan. 16, 2019)–The American Legion New Haven Post 210 announced a new but permanent meeting location and monthly meeting date for 2019.

The “new century” American Legion New Haven Post 210 will meet on the third Thursday of the month at the Knights of St. Patrick (1533 State Street, New Haven, CT 06511).

Chartered in 2018, the post formed at the New Haven Elks Lodge #25 who have fortunately found a buyer for their post home. However, the sale necessitated the move and the Knights are now welcoming their second veteran group meeting at their location, as the VFW New Haven Post 12150 meets there on the second Thursday of the month.

As we continue to get ready to market our new American Legion post, it is important to have consistent branding; specifically, using the same or similar typefaces. It lends a degree of professionalism to all marketing materials with uniform use.

I ran “The American Legion” through What the Font and it came up with: Trajan Pro, La Gioconda SC, Goudy Trajan Pro Regular, Goudy Trajan Pro Medium, and Trajan Pro Bold

Unfortunately, VistaPrint did not have any of those available for a “recruiting card” I bought.

Gearing Up for the Centennial Member Campaign

The American Legion Hamden Post 88 charter that was issued in February 1921 hangs in a place of honor in the post home.

The American Legion will celebrate its 100th anniversary on March 15, 2019. The brand new American Legion New Haven Post 210 wants to celebrate this event with a six-month Centennial Member Campaign–with the goal of signing up 100 wartime veterans as founding members.
