Twice a year before Memorial and Veterans Day, veterans and friends gather at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park on Long Wharf Avenue in New Haven to beautify the five war memorials facing New Haven Harbor. The City of New Haven Department of Parks, Recreation and Trees provides mums, trash bags, and rakes.
Organized by the American Legion New Haven Post 210 Americanism Committee, elements of the Yale Veterans Network, the National Veterans Council for Legal Redress (NVCLR), the SCSU Veterans Association, and the VFW New Haven Post 12150 contribute to the clean-up.
