The American Legion New Haven Post 210 organized in 2018 with the purpose of creating a vibrant veteran community in greater New Haven and to continue the mission of the largest wartime veterans service organization in America.
Since then, we have grown in the size and the scope of our programs, demonstrating our continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans, to our communities, and to our nation.
- We provide social and recreational activities for ALL veterans, to promote camaraderie and to combat the veteran suicide crisis in American by increasing resiliency through social connectedness. We have dozens of social events a year including dinners, the Veterans Day FREE SOS Breakfast, #VetEvents, #VetHikes, and we march with our award-winning color guard in the annual Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
- We promote the social welfare of the community and participate in community service activities of a patriotic nature by performing beautifications of local war memorials, organizing Memorial Day & Veterans Day ceremonies, and collecting unserviceable American flags.
- We carry on programs to perpetuate the memory of deceased veterans, including the annual New Haven Kick for Nick Night, which raises money and collects soccer balls to honor the simple wish of a fallen American hero.
